This project required extension and additions of various blocks in the school campus. Since both extension and design of new blocks had to be done, we had a challenge of doing something different while maintaining continuity with the existing buildings in the campus.

We continued with the exposed brick work on facades from the existing buildings and added stone clad walls which broke the monotony of the exposed brick facades.

Since it was a school building, it was important to keep the scale and form of the building such that it doesn’t intimidate the students. A variety of forms have been made so as to keep the students from getting bored of the monotonous built fabric.

The form of infirmary and Garnet-Sapphire house mistress apartment looks like an assembly of brick and stone clad plates together.

The emerald study area has a lot of glazing on the façade to allow natural light inside the studying areas.

The existing dining hall of the school is a rectangular building with windows on one side. This form gave the hall a very regimental character. The extension of dining hall required extensive changes so that the ambiance of the hall can be made more welcoming and interesting. So, we propose another floor on top of the existing block which appears as an amoebic mass sitting on a rectangular block creating a variety of spaces, both open and covered.
