The built environment transforms with the changing function of the space, maintaining the overall character. It begins with workers canteen, then officer’s canteen, an auditorium with library & culminates as a material testing lab. The building stretches along a green lawn, which acts as buffer between truck movements & the leisure activity, using it as spillover with confinement defined by a stone portal. Canteen has hollow stainless steel structural columns, connected to the underground ducts carrying cool air from over head air coolers. Perforations in columns allow cool air to spread into dining hall at 6’-0” height & bring the temperature to a comfortable state.
